"Great deal for city centre location"
We managed to get an excellent rate for our room at this hotel from Thursday to Monday. It is a business hotel and so this is probably why they have great deals at weekends. We initially found it on a travel website but it worked out to be even cheaper to book with the hotel direct via their website.
The location was absolutely fantastic, with the Alt Stadt and shopping areas within walking distance.
The room was gorgeous, although it was a twin rather than a double which we did not realise on booking. The bathroom was very luxurious, and I left with all the free Molton Brown goodies on offer!
We spent a bit extra and chose to spend a day in the penthouse pool. The view is fabulous and there are also steam rooms, sauna and massage areas downstairs. The only dissappointment was that there was no jacuzzi. Please also note that in the steam rooms etc. everyone is naked - we aren't used to this in Scotland so it took us a bit by surprise!
The bar downstairs is very nice and usually has a pianist there in the evenings. Not surprisingly the prices are extremely high, we didn't venture into the restaurant as we knew it would also be extortionate. We did try room service on the night we arrived but the burger and chips were quite poor, although it was quite cheap price wise.
Overall we loved our stay in this hotel and would strongly recommend it to those wanting a city break with good value.

"No complaints here"
A great location for both bus drop off and train station. 10 minute stroll to the Alt Stadt - passed lots of lovely shops on the way too!. Had good rooms on the 4th floor - non smoking - great - twin beds - not so great when we had requested doubles. Small bathrooms and good toiletries - Molton Brown for the girls! Great check in with an efficient and courteous gentleman. Check out took a lot longer - huge queues and only 2 on reception. Still, it was New Year's Day and no doubt we all had trains and planes to catch so left at the same time! Did not eat or drink at the hotel - knew it would be expensive - and no need really when there are so many places to choose in the old town. Breakfast was good too - large choice of everything although rather steep price at 19 euros. Still, a good hotel and would stay there again.

"Great base for Dusseldorf"
This was my first visit to Dusseldorf so thought instead of arriving at the airport and jumping in a cab I would get the train. The journey was very easy and then the hotel is only a 5-10 minute walk from the main HBF!!
First impressions when I walked into reception was fantastic and check in was handled smoothly before we were shown to our room. Room was large, welcoming and extremely comfortable.
I ate at the Japanese restaurant, Benkay - AMAZING but very expensive!! The spa area and swimming pool is a must when staying at the Nikko!!
The hotel was a short stroll to old town and shopping district so easy to go exploring.
I would definitely stay again.

"Ideal Location"
This is a beautiful hotel. It is ideally situated for the Christmas markets and shopping in both Konigsalle and the Aldstadt. It is more a business hotel than a tourist hotel, but this means that you have an excellent chance of getting a good weekend rate. The food in the hotel is very expensive, but there is a good selection of restaurants within a few minutes walk.
